Philip P. Betancourt

Philip P. BetancourtPhilip P. Betancourt is the Laura H. Carnell Professor of Art History and Archaeology at Temple University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, and Adjunct Visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He has directed archaeological excavations at several sites in Crete, including Pseira, Chrysokamino, the Hagios Charalambos Cave, and other locations. He is a specialist in Minoan Crete, and he has published over 150 articles and over 20 books including The History of Minoan Pottery, The Bronze Age Begins, and The Chrysokamino Metallurgy Workshop and Its Territory. He is the Executive Director of the Institute for Aegean Prehistory (INSTAP).

P. Betancourt is studying the architecture of the Prepalatial cemetery at Petras.
