Olga Krzyszkowska

Olga KrzyszkowskaDr Olga Krzyszkowska is Deputy Director of the Institute of Classical Studies in the University of London. In addition she is General Editor for the British School at Athens Supplementary Volumes and Studies Series. Her research interests centre chiefly – but not exclusively – on Bronze Age Crete. She has written extensively on ivory and related materials (publishing a handbook on identification in 1990) but for the past 15 years she has focused primarily on Aegean glyptic. Her book Aegean Seals: An Introduction appeared in 2005. In a series of subsequent articles and site reports she has explored problems of contextualization, the role of seals as status markers, as well as aspects of iconography. In collaboration with the Corpus der minoischen und mykenischen Siegel she is currently preparing the English translation of the CMS seal database for eventual presentation on the internet.
