The Protopalatial Fortification Wall

In the area, very close to the minoan seashore, an impressive massive wall, of almost cyclopaen construction, is preserved, equipped with towers (6). It was erected during the extensive urban arrangement of the Protopalatial period in Middle Minoan IIA. This wall is unique to Crete, especially for its dimensions, and had probably a defensive function.
